Creative Arc is a grassroots initiative between Middlesbrough, Detroit and Berlin. Led by our artistic director, Liam Slevin, Creative Arc will focus on fostering links between the three cities. The first strand will develop networks and cultural exchange between Middlesbrough and Detroit. Travelling there in October 2017, Liam will be hosted by Popps Packing. He and Popps will lead several roundtable discussions about artistic agency, legacy and urgency in the face of economic hardship. Read more about the work Popps do here.
The second strand of Creative Arc will see two Detroit based practitioners visiting Middlesbrough in early 2018. They will take part in discussions with artists and grassroots companies to further discuss ideas of cultural and artistic agency. This will be a great opportunity for Teesside based artists to meet and network with artists from Detroit. Anyone interested in getting involved should email us on [email protected].
Creative Arc is proudly supported by an Artist International Development Award by the Arts Council of England and the British Council.
